Traction was an optional extra in 1995.

It’s slightly damp outside and I’ve been going up a few motorway onramps in my new MX6 2.5.

Even if I get the thing away from the line very gently, any decent application of throttle in 1st or second will lose traction almost immediately, with brand new front tyres. I’ve driven more powerful FWD turbo cars, and more powerful AWD cars, but nothing has broken traction in 2nd in a straight line before. *hooliganism ensues*

Also Opp might be a bit drooly over my friends VW Passat W8... Manual. One of 3 in the country apparently.

I would guess that it has more to do with the damp conditions rather than the overwhelming power of your Mazda..

I’ve had two 626 GEs (basically the same car), as soon as there’s a little moisture on the ground you won’t get anywhere quick. Try starting in second, won’t help much but every little bit helps.

It’s immensely fun to drive. Endless torque and grip and an amazing smoothness with that noise.

There are wayyyy more than 3 manual W8s. Sorry to tell your buddy. But they are somewhat rare still, and definitely drool worthy.

Also wheelspin >actual power. I’d gladly light up my SVT Focus every chance I had, even if it only made 180whp.

Maybe in the states, but in NZ there are 3 NZ new ones that the VW office know of, a fact that came up when he queried why getting parts was so obscenely expensive compared to what is paid overseas.
